More about Mindstorm Robotics:
The LEGO Mindstorms education kits come with 2 touch sensors, a
light sensor, a sound sensor, and an ultrasonic sensor and 3 built
in rotational sensors.
Once each group has built their robot, they will then hook up the
“brain” of the robot to a computer and start the programming. When
starting out, the groups may just have the robot make simple turns.
However, once they understand the programming, more difficult tasks
can be accomplished.
These robots will give youth a taste of the basic programming
necessary to complete simple tasks. Robotics is a multi-disciplinary
topic that touches on engineering, basic science, computers,
programming, mathematics, problem solving, project design and
management. With this program, teens will have the opportunity to
build and program robots. Challenges will be put in place that will
enhance the benefits of team building, collaboration, and
mentorship.
